Apple Trade-In is a ****.

Lets not mash words and there are many many complaints on Hello Peter regarding the iPhone/iPad or MacBook trade-ins - this is an absolute ****. The iStore staff perform 'evaluations' of your device and basically offer you btween 30%-50% of the value of your device. PS: In order for you to qualify for this amazing offer, your device MUST basically be brand new. You are better off selling your device privately and it will be worth it.

I had an awful experience with iStore Cresta where I opted for a trade-in deal on my iPhone X. The phone is in very good condition but the technician using his magical Apple device evaluation software offered my R5k for my device - I wasnt happy about the price, but it saved me the hassle of selling it myself. It took aout 2 days to get the mobile contract deal going and eventually I went into the store to find out what was happening as I was just doing an upgrade. I had to get a second evaluation done and the iStore Cresta then informed me that there was a small scratch less than 1mm, which concerned them and they were no longer wanting to trade my device!

At this point the contract was approved by the service provider and the deal had to be cancelled. Many hours of calls to iStore Cresta and Telkom Mobile, I was incorrectly billed for two months of a new upgraded contract for which I had no phone. This is over R2.5k that is gone and Telkom arent keen on refunding either!

Please save yourself the hassle as you can see from Hello Peter, iStore do not even address complaints on this platform. They simply dont give a #$%@. So much for having an iPhone, Earbuds, MacBook Air and an iWatch.
