Apple Pencil Hardware Failure

I bought a brand new Apple pencil along with a new iPad last year. My Apple pencil started glitching for a few months before completely failing. It is a few weeks over one year, I look after it incredibly well but now does not write despite the other features such as pairing, charging and double tap working. I took it in to the store 20 April, told to book it in the next day as they were closing, and due to the public holiday booked it in on the 22nd. Not even 2 hours later - without testing - I was given a response that it's out of warranty and I need to buy a new one. No testing was done. Despite being a religious Apple supporter, with multiple products, I was not appreciated enough. I do not feel like a valued customer, they did not even take the time to try and give me a solution having been only a few weeks out of warranty.

I proceeded to contact Apple support to resolve the matter and after hours of extensive testing and sending my logs they have concluded that it must be a hardware issue as everything else is working - so it has just failed - and I need to purchase a brand new one.

I would be understanding had I broke it but under the circumstances it is a failed product and should be replaced. It is also a few weeks out of warranty, not months or years. I really believe they should have given more leeway to customers with multiple products who support them. It is not feasible to buy Apple pencils EVERY year. My previous 1st Gen pencil was bought in 2019 and still going as I took good care of it.

I am not valued as a very supportive customer and will reconsider buying products in the future and supporting Apple. I dread going to the Gateway store as they never assist you and you wait hours long.
