Apple is selling us dreams

In December I bought the iPhone XR which is supposedly water resistant. In Feb it fell in the water. It stopped working . It switched off and never switched on again. I took it in to iStore as it is still under warranty and the warranty doesn’t say anything about water damage. Istore took it in and I was slammed in the face with an R8000 repairs bill. I tried to explain that the phone is under warranty and is supposed to be water resistant they told me to speak to the Apple head office . I sent Apple an email . They asked for a report and pictures of the damages from the Istore’s repairs company I sent them . Then Apple suddenly stopped responding to my emails. Istore is telling me to fetch my phone they won’t fix it . So apple is false advertising their products. Their IPhone XR phones are not water resistant . Don’t bother buying it because even if it gives you problems you won’t get any support from istore or apple ?.
