Horrific Experience
Following inquiries to Ignite a few months back, I met with one of Ignite Fitness' sales persons to discuss setting up a membership due to the proximity to my workplace (Cape Town CBD). They were very kind and thorough, with swift responses and a helpful attitude. They went as far as to offer me a corporate rate even though my company did not have any prior memberships with them, and agreeing to a month-to-month cancellation rather than 12 month contracts, as I was uncertain of the feasibility of a gym routine at the time.
The problems started when I booked my induction session and not having anyone at the gym know about my appointment when arriving at the gym super early in the morning. Furthermore requests for class schedules to be sent so that I can distribute it through my company and ultimately get more feet into THEIR doors were handled poorly, as I never received anything useful or informative.
The real issue started when I, months later, decided to cancel my membership. I was responded to with (and I quote) "Sure thing buddy", followed by the gym going completely against the agreement made, stating I will have to pay 40% of remaining membership fees to cancel.
This was followed by the sales person flat-out ignoring my emails for a week. I got fed up and sent an email to their generic email. I was responded to by the manager of that branch, who also went silent after two emails.
It has now been five days with no response or resolve in sight. Ignite Fitness displays a shocking disinterest in respecting their clients and agreements made, and I cannot recommend the gym because of this reason. The facilities itself are acceptable and clean.
