Refusal to Honour Consumer Protection Act
Iron Lab Fitness – Refusal to Honour Consumer Protection Act I placed an online order with Iron Lab Fitness based on a checkout message stating “8–11 business days”, which reasonably implies courier transit time, not delayed fulfillment or lack of stock. After payment, it became clear that the item was not readily available. I requested cancellation before delivery, which Iron Lab Fitness refused — hiding behind “store policy”. This is not compliant with the South African Consumer Protection Act. Store policy does not override the CPA. As a consumer, I am lawfully entitled to cancel a distance-sale transaction prior to delivery. No item had been delivered. No service rendered. No customisation done. Instead of complying, they ignored follow-ups and offered a discount instead of a refund. Buyers beware: misleading delivery information and refusal to honour basic consumer rights.
