I rarely leave negative reviews, but after everything that has happened, I feel I have a responsibility to share my experience with IR Performance Benoni. Unfortunately, since my vehicle was repaired by this workshop, it has been one problem after another. Within less than a year, I experienced the following: • The replacement starter motor lasted only six months. It was later discovered that the starter motor had been left completely loose, requiring it to be be replaced again. • Less than 7,000 km after the clutch replacement, the clutch began slipping and shuddering. I took the vehicle to a trusted, independent mechanic for assessment, where it was confirmed that the flywheel had not been skimmed, or had not been skimmed correctly, meaning both the clutch and flywheel had to be replaced again at my own expense. • During the same inspection, it was also found that the rear crankshaft seal was leaking heavily, resulting in further repair costs. • My 4x4 system worked perfectly before the vehicle went to IR Performance. After getting it back, it no longer worked. It was confirmed that the 4x4 wiring had been pulled out, and the wiring had simply been taped together instead of being repaired correctly. Despite raising this issue previously, it was never resolved. • During the clutch replacement, my vehicle rolled off the workshop ramp. While some of the damage was repaired, the fracture in my canopy was never fixed. • Despite requesting them repeatedly, I was never provided with invoices for the work carried out, making it difficult to keep proper service records or deal with warranty-related matters. When I contacted the workshop to find out where the clutch had been purchased so that I could pursue the manufacturer's warranty on the parts, I was told they only provide a 6-month workmanship warranty. Instead of acknowledging the possibility of a workmanship issue, I was told that a clutch is a wear-and-tear item and that I must have been "driving on the clutch." The final response I received was simply, "Sorry you feel that way." After multiple workmanship issues, repeated failures, unresolved damage, and the lack of accountability, I had no confidence in returning my vehicle to the same workshop. Instead, I entrusted it to a reputable and reliable independent mechanic to rectify the problems. This review reflects my personal experience. Based on everything that has happened, I cannot recommend IR Performance Benoni and would strongly advise anyone considering using this workshop to think carefully before entrusting them with their vehicle.
