Beware of IQMA financial advisor

I had a bad poor experience with Jacques Snyman from IQMA. He misled me into paying what I believed was a standard monthly medical aid contribution, without informing me that I would be paying in arrears. I only discovered this when I cancelled the medical aid and moved to another provider. As a result, I was forced to either skip a month of cover or pay for two medical aids in a single month.

When he presented the documents for signing, he spoke a lot of nothing, which distracted me. I signed without fully reading the fine print. He also failed to mention that he was charging me a full month’s premium as a fee for his assistance with the application.

This turned out to be a very expensive mistake. My advice: don’t let yourself be distracted and read every document thoroughly before signing. Ask clear questions and get written confirmation of any fees or conditions. I’m sharing this to help others avoid going through the same situation.
