Avoid iPoint Cell Fix in Northgate Mall

Be careful with this place. They sell overpriced *******, try to gaslight you in the process, and take no responsibility for how they communicate or treat their customers.

In January 2021, I bought a generic MacBook Pro charger from them for R1300. GENERIC. For R1300.

At the time, I thought it was a refurbished Apple charger. When I took the charger home, it didn't even fit into my 2-point adaptor and therefore didn't work.

I went back to the shop the next morning to request a refund. They refused to refund me even though their refund policy isn't stated anywhere in their shop. Their invoice wasn't clear either, as it only detailed their policy for electronics REPAIRS.

At this point, someone from the shop took the charger to another room and tested it. He didn't acknowledge any fault with the charger but merely brought back a DIFFERENT charger, trying to pass it off as being the same one. Fortunately, the new charger DID fit into my 2-point adaptor when I got home.

That R1300 piece of ******* has now stopped working, barely a year later. And the shop owners simply say that it's out of warranty, so they will have to charge me to fix it. That would be fair IF it wasn't an overpriced piece of ******* and if they had been clear with the refund policy from the outset.

Had they refunded me, I would've spent R300 more to buy a REAL MacBook Pro charger, which would still be working!!

Do yourself a favour and avoid this place. For generic MacBook chargers, rather buy a high-quality charger at Incredible Connection for R1000, or order one on Takealot for about R330. It will likely last longer, and you won't have to deal with the absolute lack of integrity and respect that iPoint Cell Fix has for its customers.
