They destroyed my T.V

STAY FAR AWAY!

I sent my T.V in for repairs at this company have returned it to me in a condition that makes it more trash than anything else.

Firstly, I phoned them and confirmed that a R250 charge would be needed to access the damage which would then come off of my total. The description of needed repairs I gave them was a screen that intermittently turned off - no other damage not even a scratch.

They had originally told me it would cost around R1500 to repair. Then after a few days they called me and said it would cost closer to R6000 - almost the price I paid for the T.V itself.

I felt insulted, and politely told them I would be collecting the T.V that same day. Once I collected it I noticed there were fine scratches on it - so I switched it on to further investigate and have noticed the ENTIRE screen has been smashed - looks like it was used as a punching bag. Upon even further inspection I noticed most of the fittings are loose and *****s are missing. The T.V was also - unnecessarily - wrapped completely in bubble wrap and plastic and due to the weather conditions at the time I could not open it in the shop.

I brought the T.V back in once I noticed these issues. and they blamed the damages on the transport - but they could not explain to me where the pressure came from that damaged it. I have transported this T.V many times in the same way before and only now its the fault - two people were used to carry to minimize possible damages, pillows and blankets were placed to ensure it did not hit the front seats and it was held gently in place.

What kind of service is this? I basically paid R250 for them to smash my tv.
