price ripp-off
I work in the mall. I pay R350 per month to park at the mall. Every month there are issues when I need to make a payment. So the October month fee did not go through. January I was on leave for 3 weeks, and still made full payment of R350. Now they are requesting Octobers payment. My question was why should I pay full amount but was more than half the month not there. I have spoken to David in Cape Town and he said I could take it up with the landlord to get a possible refund. The opps manager at the mall was so persistant, I have to pay full amount ! He said its a montly fee which I should pay evan if I dnt park at the centre. The more I tell him that I cant see why I should pay if im not at the mall, the more He te tell me its a monthly fee. I feel this is ridiculous. Their service is very bad and not to speak about the arrogant opps manager of the Mall. I have not sign any contract stating I have to pay evan if I dont park there. There was no contract signed.
Dear Bianca,
Thanks you for bringing this to our attention. I believe you have been in contact with the Portfolio manager for Interpark as well as the Centre manager for Baywest.
Both parties have informed you correctly of the process as far as I can see. Although Interpark manages the parking and rentals, we do this on behalf of our landlords, and, as such, pay all revenues collected over to them. We are, unfortunately not in a position to override their decisions in any way.
Parking bay rentals work in pretty much the same way to any other premises/apartment/house rentals. If you go on leave/sick leave etc. you still are liable to pay rent on your premises/apartment/house for that month. If you are aware of any reason why you would not be using your bays, you are always welcome to inform Interpark with 1 months notice to terminate billing for that month. We then will terminate the billing and suspend your card for the month. Should you then still wish to use the parking for a number of days within that month, you simply pull a ticket and pay daily rates.
Should you have any further questions please feel free to contact
