I bough a book from a reputable seller on Bob Shop, who unfortunately selected Internet Express to deliver the package. On the evening of Monday 3 November I received an email from Bob Shop, saying that the package had been collected, followed by an sms from Internet Express later that evening, which said the package had left their Johannesburg depot, on the way to their third-party courier in the Vaal, VMDS. Then nothing.
By Thursday evening, not seeing any update on their tracing web page, I sent an email to enquire about the status of the package. At 08:25 on Friday morning I received an sms stating that the package was delivered. I looked out my window, but saw no delivery vehicle in front of my house, or anywhere down the street; it seems likely that they updated the delivery status in response to my query.
Later in the day I queried them again, and they eventually responded with a copy of a delivery note, signed with the name of someone I had never heard of (not one of my next-door neighbours), with date "032/11/2025" and time "11/16". Clearly this could not indicate a date, as that Friday was only 7 November.
It would therefore appear that they either misplaced the package when handing it over to VMDS on Monday night, 3 November (perhaps at 11:16pm?), or delivered it to the wrong person. They have been unable to confirm where their delivery vehicle was at 08:25 on the Friday morning (the driver later told me it would be unlikely that he would be in my town that early), or whether they had any other deliveries that week for someone with the same name as the person who signed the delivery note.
