Unreliable bus in South Africa

A month ago I traveled from Matatiele to Jhb, the bus had a faulty heater and wipers not working in a freezing weather. Two weeks back my daughter experienced bad customer service as the driver refused to drop her off at Germiston. Today I'm traveling from Jhb to Matatiele the bus is having a breakdown every 20 min, the driver and passengers have to be the mechanics and try and fix the bus, I feel that our safety is compromised hence it has stopped in a very awkward place, how come they don't have a road assistance machanic.
