Intercity Losses All Customers Belongings
A horrible and sad experience all in one. I bordered the bus ensuring that my bags was tagged and continued my journey. There was many stops in Johannesburg and anxious to get to my son, the only thing I could think about was arriving safely. When we finally arrive at Edenvale McDonalds, we went to the bag site and my bag was not there, there was actually no bags left. I was so shocked and upset but the driver seemed uninterested and unapologetic. I asked what are the next steps and he advised that there is nothing he can do. My son arrived and started to question him further, he then became rude and arrogant and shouted "what must he do". The real question is "what must I do", all my belongings for the trip. cloths, jewelry etc. are gone. I am here with nothing but my hand bag and no assistance from the bus service. The drivers name was Siyabonga Ntshangase, he refused to offer assistance and was unremorseful. We also spoke to a customer care consultant who advised that she will send SMS to all the passengers. What is the remedial action in these circumstances? according to my knowledge the driver was suppose to check each persons ticket when they collect their luggage, clearly this was not done for this occurrence to happen. When we approached the driver he makes it seems like this issue is not major and does not acknowledge the fact that my belonging are now gone. I cannot seem to wrap my head around this. The anger and frustration especially the fact that after the occurrence I still had to deal with a driver that was clearly uninterested. My aim is for this message to reach far and wide, this cannot happen and we need to be taken seriously as paying customers.
