Worst and Terrible experience from Intercape.
On the 17 November I travelled with intercape bus from Cape Town station to Johannesburg. My 2 bags were ****** in the intercape bus trailer which was left unlocked. The driver noticed that the were people on the trailer through the side mirror and stopped at the Beaufort west garage where we managed to alert the police and opened a case. The police patrolled around the area and found only one bag and told me that Intecape was going to compesate as it was their fault (left the trailer unlocked). The Intercape driver assured me that the matter will be handled accordingly and I will be compensated as I have already reported the case. They took my contact details when we arrived at Johannesburg park station and they called the following day, asked for reciepts of what was inside the bag and an affidavit. I did send those required documents, eventhough I didn't have all of the receipt.
After I called asking about feedback and the consutant told me she will send the documents to their legal team, after 3days I made a follow up again.
Today I got a call from intercape stating that they wont compensate me for my loss. I am lost because why did they want those slips of ****** items and the police affidavit while they knew that they don't compensate ****** luggages. My bag would not have been ****** if they locked their trailer. I am really dissapointed with the way intercape handled this matter. Now I have to buy clothes that were ****** due to someone's neglegence and intercape does not care. The other long distance buses are way much better when it comes to securing and protecting your lagguage and belongings as a customer when compared to Intercape.
