unhygenic, poor service, no communication, no honesty, no integrity, money grabbers, bunch of trash for human beings
booked as a group of 12 elderly church ladies travelling from JNB to DBN 20 sep @11pm to arrive 21 sep @6;45
we understand weather was bad not a problem
my concern was we we stuck from before 6am at Engen Newcastle till 2:30 pm no communication as to what was happening. most on this fully loaded bus were hungry, grumpy and just exhausted. since we left bus only made 3 stops- one going out of town after 11pm, one at 5:12am at engen and 6:02am @ newcastle engen 1. toilet on bus was only for no. 1 usage. we were notified once we left depot at Park station. everytime we needed bathroom had to run through heavy rain and snow as bus was parked way off. 2. at this time it was not in good condition already as never cleaned before we boarded 3. no communication from driver and co. a simple response would have done. we had to find out from our family members about the situation outside and around us. passengers from Greyhound notified us that they were getting refunded due to bad weather and so on. 4. seats on bus uncomfortable, levels broken in spot and leg space a major issue especially on the opposite side of the toilet. For me with sciatica nerve pain sitting from 11pm to 9pm next day almost 22 hours in same position. had no chance of enjoying my vacation. 5. most on the bus didn't have any food and drinks as they only had enough to get to dbn. no previsions were made. most we sharing what they could while others just slept through hunger and thirst. 6. at 2pm myself and colleague asked driver to assist us we had originally planned on taking taxis from Dbn to Port shepstone that morning. paid in advance and as you know no show no refund. all we needed was to ask if there was another bus in the convoy of intercape all parked at the Garage going that way. told very coldly NO. did not even bother to ask his colleagues. yet on site it says that's part of the route.
left newcastle at 2:30 and travelled until 8:20pm without a **** stop. that toilet odour seeping out and we had to sit through it. elderly ladies had no choice but to relieve themselves. why did Intercape not make arrangements for drivers to take that route long time ago and by the way the route was clear. no accidents nothing. Only intercape
once at Dbn station @ 9:20 we went to enquiries to ask for help and was left stranded and heartbroke after bunch of 3 youngsters sit and yapped and yapped away before ever acknowledging us. heartless humans turned us away without even hearing us out proper. we were sent between the 3 of them yet they didn't take the time to listen or provide eye contact.
bdn @8am to jnb @ 16:35 only made 1 stop
9:50 we arranged with security and a taxi driver to get us a taxi to take us to Port Shepstone and arrived there after just before 12 at night. our check in was @9am and we lost out on a whole day
