Smooth Ride, but Disappointing Experience at Cape Town Station

Yesterday/Today I traveled on Bus 923 from Durban to Cape Town, and I must commend the journey itself. The ride was smooth, and we actually arrived ahead of schedule, which I greatly appreciated. Kudos to the drivers for ensuring a timely and comfortable trip!

However, my experience took a disappointing turn when I arrived at the Cape Town Station. While waiting for my luggage, I realized my phone had been pickpocketed. As soon as I noticed, I reported the incident to the security staff at the station, but unfortunately, they were unable to assist me. I then went to the Intercape offices to inquire about any available footage that might help, but was told they do not have cameras in place. I was also told that this kind of incident is "an everyday thing" at the station, which left me frustrated and concerned.

If this is indeed a frequent occurrence, I wonder why more measures aren't being taken to address it. Additionally, I noticed that individuals with trolleys are allowed to approach passengers as soon as they disembark, which seems like a potential opportunity for theft. Why are these individuals still permitted to enter the area when so many reports of theft are being made?

Overall, while the bus journey itself was great, the lack of support and security at Cape Town Station has left a bad impression. I hope that Intercape and the station can take more serious action to improve the safety of passengers.
