RUDE AND *********** INTERCAPE DRIVER

I booked a sleepliner bus ticket from Johannesburg to Bellville and was given a ticket to board bus number 250. I went to have my luggage checked into the bus and gave the driver my ticket which stated my destination as Bellville. The driver took my ticket and packed my luggage in with no questions. I boarded the bus and when on the bus the same driver came to announce that the bus I was on was going directly to Cape Town. I told the driver my destination was Bellville and that the lady at the ticket office had allocated me bus number 250 to which he rep**** that I couldn’t be put on the other bus as my luggage was right at the back and I would be dropped in Bellville. When reaching the turn off for Bellville the driver didn’t turn off. I went to ask him why he wasn’t turning to drop me off to which he rep**** that the bus not stopping in Bellville as all the passengers on the bus were going to Cape Town except me (even though my ticket stated that I was going to Bellville). I called Intercape office and I spoke to a lady who told me to hold on whilst she called the driver, she got back to me saying the driver was not answering and that I should take my phone to him so she could speak to him. When I asked the driver to take the call he said he was busy with a call. I stood there and watched as he carried on driving and noted that he was not on a call at all. The lady eventually got hold of him and told me that they would put me on a bus to Bellville from Cape Town. On arriving in Cape Town I was told I would have to wait for the next available bus which I thought was not right and told the lady that I had been traveling for almost 20 hours and that I was 65 years old, was very tired and highly stressed by the service I had received.

I had 4 heavy bags of luggage which I was now expected to take and carry to the Intercape offices.

Only after venting myself the lady organized a driver to take me to Bellville in one of the depot’s cars.

My question is where is our safety and security if we can not be dropped off at our destination and get this kind of treatment from the drivers and especially as a senior citizen I find this very concerning
