I took my brother in law to the Intercape Bus terminals at parkstation in Johannesburg today 02/11/2016 to board the bus to Harare departing at 19:30.

We had a sealed box which had a server computer.

We got to the check in desk and proceeded to produce the travel documentss and box for check in.

The lady refused to check the box in and pointed us to a notice posted in front of the check in desk.

Apparently boxes have to be taken to the 'warehouse', and the lady indicated this has to be done the day prior to travel.

Unfortunatley there is 'nothing I can do'. Either the box was staying or both passenger and box.

I asked how come clients are not made aware of this prior to purchasing the tickets. Typical answer there is nothing she can do.

The bus departed - without my brother in law.

We went to the ticketing office to get a refund. We were told that beacuse the ticket was bought at Checkers Hyper they could not refund us.

I asked them the policy regarding carrying of boxes. They said they do not know. The check in desk are the ones that know and determine. Sometimes boxes are accepted sometimes they are not.

Embarrassing and pathetic to say the least.
