Mistreated and wrongfully accused by a bus driver.
on Sat 15 of March, i was scheduled to ride the bus at 20:00, arriving in Pretoria at 8:00 AM Sunday. pick up was at the Sasol garage. made it on time but the guy at the ticket office said he is closing so he will tell the drivers to check me in. no stress, my bags were boarded by the one driver, no stress. i don't know what he told the driver at the door, i just saw that guy pushing me off the line when it was my turn to get in. my partner took me to the bus and he asked him what was going on. guy said the office guy told him i am drunk or i smell of alcohol so he must double check his suspicion. so the driver said he smells it too, so i can not go. i asked for proof that i am drunk. not a smell, as one can smell of alcohol and not be drunk. the gentleman told me to get away, he has decided he is not letting me in and he left the door to go offload my bag. my question is where is or was the proof that i am drunk, there was no blood tests done, no breathalyzing involved, etc. i would get it if i was falling over, being a problem like a drunk person, but this gentleman heard something that he was told by a person that ran home the min i was walking towards the door to check in. why did he not stay to address his concerns and why was i not allowed to board as there was no proof that i was drunk. with no blood tests or breathalyzers, you only way of knowing for sure if i am drunk is observing my behavior through out the trip and if i show drunkenness signs, you more than welcome to drop me off at your next stop. when i traveled to Queenstown, there was a drunk white gentleman that was smoking at the toilet, i did not see him being pushed out of the line during check in at his bus stop, lady next to me asked the driver if the guy was fine and they said they have their doubts, so they will keep an eye on him. that gentleman was not taken off the bus even after spending time smoking in the bathroom. instead he was asked to go back to his seat, sleep it off and by the time we got to his destination (bloem) he was sobber, got off and it was end of the story. when will this end where a African is disrespected by his or her own but they count their words and actions with white people. all i want is my 400 rands back, part ways with the bus. i even emailed them, no one responded.
