Intercape Online Booking Misleading Information
While looking for bus ticket prices online I came across Intercape's website, the website is very user friendly and secure. So I thought why not book an online ticket myself. I saw a price for R260 from Bloem to JHB, thinking this cannot be true, I drove to our tourism center and asked the guy who works there about the price. He told me that is only available online. So I went home, got to their website and proceeded to book two tickets. The payment went through and everything, but I was left with this error message: "There is a problem processing your purchase. A consultant will contact your shortly". So I waited. At 20:00 I decided to call them myself and find out. The lady on the other line told me that there aren't tickets for that price (What the Hell! Then why are they being advertised and put on their website!). She then gives me two options. Either pay an additional amount for the two tickets or get a refund. So i opted for the refund. I email all the required information to ********** as requested and waited again. Because she is going to "call me back" when she receives the email (not a letter an instant electronic message!). The next day I call again and was asked to email the information again to the same email address. So I did. I explain my situation and the reason for my refund and ask to just get confirmation that they did indeed get my email. Finally someone cc'd me in an email. But their explanation for the refund is: "Good day
Please refund the web nr.
Passenger do not want to travel.
Payment came too late through on SID
Greetings" (Leaving out her name for now) ... Now sitting here frustrated, having to use my own airtime to call after them, driving to their offices to confirm the price and the bank chargers that goes with the payment. They except me to be happy with a refund that can only take place between "14 workings days" or " Three weeks". I have not even received an apology for the misleading information that they posted on their website. Maybe the lesson I'm suppose to learn from this is, do not trust their online booking system even if a consultant tells you that those prices might just be for online bookings.
