Intercape bus was a total dissatisfaction

Intercape is really gona play a huge role in the numbers going up for people testing positive on covid this festive season. I was travelling from Cape Town to East London Sunday the 19th December 2021. According to the covid 19 protocols anything more than 200km is long distance. Now imagine 1028,7 Km I. A bus fully loaded, 90% of passengers not wearing masks and bus crew not bothered by it. This was just a very unpleasant travel for me. No 1 the bus was very uncomfortable and very full. They call it budget liner but that said they should consider the distance before letting out those buses, it’s the most uncomfortable bus I’ve ever travelled with . DMJ is even wayyyy better that that. Never mind the fact that all charging ports did not function and with all the delays the crew had without a single word of letting the passengers know what’s going. Now you must know when you travel there people waiting to pick you up, that keep calling to check where you are. Most of our phones died because the crew didn’t even have a sense of urgency in this matter. We had to ask several times if the charging ports are switched off or something but you would have to go remind them again to even check that. We were supposed to arrive in EL at 09:15 but at 09:15 we were in KWT instead. Non of the drivers saw the need to even make an announcement excusing the fact that we are way behind the time of arrival.

Back to my main point. The only time we got sanitised I was in Cape Town at the time we boarded the bus after that all the ins and out through out every stop there was no such. No masks worn by 80% if the passengers, no social distancing. We were sitting hip to hip throughout. I really didn’t feel safe and cared for at all. I don’t think budget means putting peoples health and comfort at risk.
