INTERCAPE BUS LINER (Not fair)

On 19th August 2019 an Intercape bus driver knocked my daughter's car and proceeded without stopping , causing damage to the value of more than R17 000. As this incident happened literally a few meters from their depot in Bellville, my daughter reported the accident immediately at their office, where the bus details were confirmed. The bus left the depot just a few minutes before the incident. She proceeded to get a case no at the police station for insurance purposes. Upon subsequent enquiry at Intercape a lady at the office confirmed that an inspection of the bus confirmed that there was blue paint in the side of the bus (colour of the car). Regretfully this acknowledgement was not in writing.

Intercape advised my daughter to deal directly with their insurers as this was a third party claim. The insurers requested various documentation, including three quotes for the repairs, accident report, affidavit, etc. About a week ago they sent an assessor to inspect the vehicle, who requested my daughter to follow up on Tuesday 1 October 2019 regarding payment arrangements. Now what follows is the unbelievable part to the chain of events.

A certain Mr Bheki Sithole, a Legal Recovery Consultant with Customer loyalty consultants (see other reviews on hellopeter), on behalf of the insurer confirmed that they are not paying for the damage to her car. The reason for this? The driver is denying the incident. Further to this they require a witness statement. This after more than a month after the incident. I ask myself, is this right? Is this fair?

My daughter's car is damaged. She had to suffer inconvenience, not being able to go to work that day. She had to go through all the trouble of obtaining quotes, making calls and constantly following up with regards to the progress of the claim. Only to be told today that she needs a witness.

This incident happened in peak hour at a busy intersection. Where must she get a witness after more than a month?
