Intercape

I boarded bus 910 from Pretoria to Durban on 1st February 2024. Enroute, just before Montrose about a kilometer or so, the bus began stalling. The driver continued to drive it and stopped for a 15 minute stop at Montrose. We thereafter continued on our journey only for the bus to breakdown about a kilometer from Montrose in the middle of the road. We had to stay inside the bus with no aircon or windows in excess of 30 degrees heat waiting for a mechanic to arrive 30 minutes later. The driver knew there was a problem with the bus, he should have never left Montrose and the passengers would be waiting in safety. There was no communication from the driver as to what was happening. About an hour later we were back on the road. One of the other passengers had to call customer service to tell the driver to switch the aircon on as by now the discomfort level was extremely high and breathing became difficult. Just between Hillcrest and Pinetown on the N3, the bus stalled again with a complete breakdown. Once again we sat in tbe bus with no communication from the driver Another bus was thereafter sent to us. On the busy N3, in peak hour traffic, the passengers had to offload their own luggage from one bus into another, carrying it on the road where vehicles were hooting at us as we now used a lane to walk or run rather, from one bus to another to prevent from getting knocked and killed by speeding vehicles. The drivers of both buses, the other bus being 089, just stood by and did nothing to help the elderly or the 2 women with babies and myself as I had heavy luggage which I paid extra for to transport. When I requested for help, the bus driver of 089 said it's not his job or problem. It was a horrible experience, scary as well as our lives were at risk. Mine especially as I struggle profusely with my luggage and the transfer. We arrived at our destination two and a half to three hours late. The trip was a horrific ordeal with no care from the Intercape staff. They were completely unprofessional, rude and uncaring with no sense of humanity. From December to now, this was my second terrifying experience with Intercape. I would never recommend this bus service to anyone as they put people's lives in danger and the staff are *********** and horrible human beings.
