Complaint C185510
Good day
I hope this email finds you well.
Me and my fiancé travelled with Intercape Sleepliner in June 2024, throughout the bus ride, the bus kept stopping in the middle of nowhere. At first, we didn’t think much of it as the ride was going well. When we reached Bloemfontein the bus started leaking water from the roof as we were sitting at the bottom underneath the top deck part. The water leakage got worst as we approached Colesburg, to the extend where a lot of people had to find alternative seats as they could not remain seated.
Keeping in mind the time we arrived in Colesburg was just after 3pm if I am not mistaken, and the weather was at minus 2-4 degrees, imagining how cold the bus was at this point. We waited for the engineer to come but we had to stay seated in a bus that was not only freezing but wet and dripping with water. The situation was almost unbearable. We waited for almost an hour before the drivers of our bus asked another but to take the people going to Middelburg Eastern Cape and Cradock on their bus to reach our destination. The reason I am sending this email is to make management aware of the state of their busses and I am a long-time loyal passenger to Intercape. I have been traveling with Intercape my whole life as their busses has always been top quality with no problems whatsoever.
I still have our tickets for our travel as calling is not working, you hold on for more then an hour for someone to answer and they never do.
on the 05 Feb 2025 was advise by the Thandokazi Madikane Customer Relation Officer the feedback from Intercape is ' unfortunate the bus had a break down' if that's the case/issue and how they treat such complains it will be my last bus drive with them
