Complaint

Good Day

I hope this email finds you well. I took a Intercape bus from Bloemfontein to Pretoria on the 7th of August 2022 at 23:55pm that arrived on the 8th of August 2023 at 08:45am and my ticket number was ***GC330 with bus number 081.

When I arrived, I was the very last person to leave the bus and there was only two bus drivers in the bus. So I forgot my Green&blue backpack with a laptop and a box of medication inside of it together with a brown handbag with my passport,charger,cellphone and other small things in it.

Just after the bus left I realised that I forgot them and I decided to go to the Intercape bus station office in Pretoria to report the matter. The people in the office told me that there was only a brown handbag and the blue&green backpack was not there. I don’t understand how the bags were separated because I put them together.

I suspect that one of the drivers has taken the backpack and left the handbag. I would like to report for a suspicious theft by the drivers.

I sent an email to Intercape to address this matter and they responded by within less than 7days. The man who was talking to me is Damien. I told him the story on what had happened and asked him to send me the footage since there were cameras on the bus to see who had taken my bags. He said it was not in law to send the the footage. The reason why asked for the footage was because he was telling me about what he could see that I couldn’t see on my side. I said to him that I also want to see the footage because I wouldn’t know if he was telling the truth. He said that I’m accusing him of lying and that I’m also accusing his drivers for theft and that accusation is a serious matter. He then intimidated me and said that he will be taking this matter to his legal department. And that he is going charge me for the accusation. He was also rude on the phone on the phone and asked if I think I know who I’m talking to and immediately hung up the phone.

After hours after that he sent me screenshots of parts that he wanted to show me on WhatsApp. I told him that one of the bags was my mine and the other one was not. He then sent a message that we should arrange and meet up somewhere so that I can see the footage. But I didn’t not reply because of how he had been talking to me on the phone. I’m concerned about me safety. I also think that he might be hiding something from me.

Please advise what I should do.
