CARELESSNESS AND IRRESPONSIBLE BEHAVIOUR OF THE WORKERS OF THE INTERCAPE BUSSES

I booked the bus for the 28th June 2023 at Uitenhage, the shuttle was sent to collect us from Uitenhage as passengers to PE Greenacres, on arrival we were asked to report at the office only for the bags to be weighed and charged. I had 3 bags , a backpack and laptop bag, 2 blankets, a pillow and a three year old grandchild. I struggled to get into the office with all these bags and a child from the shuttle and to take them out of the office to the bus. In that struggle I left my two blankets and a pillow over the counter near the weighing scale. Thinking that I will leave the child in the bus and go back to fetch them but the que was long for luggages and I happen to forgot those blankets there in the office. The bus started to drive off from the parkings. It wasn't far from the offices when I reported to the driver that I forgot the blankets in the office and he told me that they cannot turn back when they moved from the parkings. I begged him to call and inform the office about the blankets and he promised to call them. I also tried to call the office myself and I asked my daughter to call too but the Port Elizabeth number didn't go through, the only number that was working was Cape Town and we waited until the airtime was used up because they had a high volume of calls. On the 29th my daughter went to the office to collect the items to be told that they were claimed already.by one of the passengers who was going to Cape Town, when I ask the Lady on the phone if they took the details of the person who claimed them , she said no they didn't they just gave them to the person, who took a late bus to Cape Town, while the incident happened at about 5:pm the claimant from Cape Town's bus was at past 7pm according to the lady whom I spoke with through my daughter's phone. We had a very bad journey in the very cold bus aircon with no blankets the child was shivering with cold we complained about it to the deaf ears no one cared.
