Be realistic and honest about trip duration and arrival times
I have used Intercape a few times and I don't feel they are deserving on 1 star despite there being many reviews like that.
However for both my trips over the last week the bus was at least 2 hours late on arrival versus what was advertised. I was thankful on the second trip to at least receive an SMS stating that the bus was running an hour later for pick up.
Intercape should just not advertise the trip duration as a hopeful estimate and rather just face the fact that the trip will never be as fast due to a variety of factors. Traffic, stops, customers taking more time than given for breaks etc
It will be much more valuable to customers for Intercape to add +- 2 hours to their arrival time so customers can plan accordingly. Add 2.5 hours rather and arrive early?
On the bus itself I must add that many of the USB chargers do not work. It seemed like all the aisle seat USB ports worked. But most of the USB ports for the window seats did not work. If Intercape is going to advertise USB chargers then make sure they all work.
On my second trip the one tv provided for 'entertainment' did not even come on. Once again, if Intercape is going to advertise on board entertainment then deliver entertainment and not a blank screen.
I will however give 1 star to their WhatsApp support line. On both trips it took over 45 minutes to be assigned an agent. In my case the bus arrived before the consultant.
Finally, I would say that if Intercape insists on advertising arrival times that are just fantasy causing customers to be delayed and frustrated then their ticket cost should be compensated for each hour they are late.
Currently you pay upfront, roll the dice on arrival and you must just be happy with what you get.
