A Bitter Experience from an INTERCAPE TRAVEL.
An employee of mine, that usually fly between cities, decided to enjoy a bus travel, an hence chose Intercape as his carrier, a journey from Cape Town to Johannesburg. The bus made a usual stop at Bloemfontein, and the Bus Driver ( the only person with the key to the luggage compartment) , then assisted a passenger that was getting off at Bloemfontein. On arrival at Johannesburg station , the employee's luggage was missing . We were then told to contact Head Office, and this where the real journey begins : When you contact Intercape office , you wait almost 21-30 minutes listening to voice prompt, as if you haven't had a bad experience already. Eventually we get to speak to a Call Centre agent by the name of Tasmin , now this is where the plot thickens. We where informed that matter would be investigated, given a reference number, but never any feedback unless you initiate the first call. This investigation went on for 3 weeks, now surprisingly whenever u contact Intercape Head Office you only get through to Danel or Tasmin and it appears that 2 people tends to pass the buck onto each other , and they blattenly ignore your request to speak to Management : WOW !!! INTERCAPE , so much for CUSTOMER SERVICE. Eventually after this 3 week Experience INTERCAPE / Danel decided that they will not be compensating for the lost baggage , yet the baggage was lost BECAUSE OF DRIVER NEGLIGENCE , he was the only person with the luggage compartment key and assisted the passenger at the Bloemfontein stop , and he nicely gave that passenger extra baggage. Now Intercape after 3 weeks refuses to claim liability for their incompetence. This is a HEADS UP for all passengers that intend to travel with Intercape in the near future, THINK TWICE , before choosing this carrier , not only would you endure pathetic Customer Service, but your luggage would get lost or ****** without compensation.
Lastly if INTERCAPE thinks I'm stopping here with this post , wait and see the forthcoming attractions of negative publicity.
