Extremely disappointed with the service I have received from Inter Africa Bureau de Change (Long Street, Cape Town).
I am extremely disappointed with the service I have received from Inter Africa Bureau de Change (Long Street, Cape Town). I sent USD 200 via Western Union on 24 December through this branch. Shortly after, I noticed a minor spelling error in the receiver’s name and returned to the branch to request an amendment. I was informed that an email would be sent to Western Union and that I should wait for feedback. Today is 31 December, and I am still waiting. I have called the branch three times, and on each occasion I was told the same thing: - No feedback from Western Union - Email is apparently the only way they can communicate with Western Union - No one has called me back with an update I even asked whether they could call or escalate the matter, given that the transfer is urgent, but I was told to simply wait. This level of service is unacceptable. A simple name correction should not take over a week, and the lack of communication, follow-up, and urgency is very concerning. At this point, I have no clarity on the status of my money or when this issue will be resolved. I expect: - Clear feedback on the status of my transaction - Proof that the amendment has been properly escalated - Proactive communication instead of me having to chase for answers I chose this agency only because I had temporarily lost my mobile device — otherwise I normally use the Western Union app without any issues. This experience has been extremely frustrating. I hope Inter Africa Bureau de Change will take this complaint seriously and resolve the matter urgently.
