BEWARE- suspected ********** enterprise.
I requested a quotation for 2x containers, delivery to Limpopo (ex-Cape Town), and received a price of R13 000 each for B Grade + R4000 delivery= total of R39 100 VAT inc.
After nearly going ahead with payment, I happened to be in Cape Town on Wednesday 7th September 2022, so thought I would drop in and do a visual inspection of the type of refurbishment job that they profess to do on the containers, and went to the Cape Town address detailed on the quotation (34 Station Road, Maitland, Cape Town, 7530).
There turned out to only be a vacant industrial site at the stated premises, with the only enterprise on the whole street being a Grindrod container depot further along.
Sensing a ****, I called the Sales Manager, Daren Logan (Landline : +***6 / Mobile / WhatsApp : +***0), to say that I was at the address and wanted to come in and look at their containers, but was told that it would not be possible.
I then challenged him as to whether his enterprise was legitimate, as being physically present at the Cape Town address and seeing no sign of any business operation while speaking to him on the phone, I was deeply suspicious.
I was given deceptive and unsatisfactory responses, leading me to assess this enterprise as being an online *****.
I am sorry that you were unfortunately one of the victims in a **** which targeted our business. We run a legitimate business which has unfortunately suffered the same fate as other container suppliers where we were all targeted by ************ ******** selling fictitious containers and collecting deposits or even full payment from unsuspecting would be clients. An ******* website which was not ours was created and used to lure potential buyers into these ****s. Legal advice was sought and we were party to having the website taken down. We have done everything we can to recover our credibility while various parties reported these crimes to SAPS with our assistance. At no point in time did we have knowledge of or gain any benefit from these ****s.
Please know that we are also victims in this scenario but we are still supplying our loyal customers who have been dealing with us for years with quality products in totally honest and transparent legitimate business transactions. If you should need to reach out and contac so that we can assist you with any legal proceedings you may have entered into to recover funds that you might have paid over to the ******** then please let us know and we will be happy to assist you via my e-mail address, but please be aware that we now only deal "face to face" with customers via our team on the ground and we do not have a website nor do we advertise our stock online.
