No contingency plans in place.
I am having the worst experience EVER!! On Saturday afternoon (17/12) we had a power dip which damaged our fridge. Being week-end I waited till Monday morning to register the claim. In spite of numerous attempts (all of which were unsuccessful), to do so by phone, via e-mail and on their app, I eventually drove to my work on Tuesday morning (20/12) to report the issue. After I got through to an operator at 08h35 a case was registered and I was informed that a service provider would contact me within 2 hours. I eventually started following up after no feedback was received during the remainder of the morning. After various calls to the insurer, appointed service provider and myself we eventually ended up whereby I was notified that due to the unavailability of reliable transport of the appointed service provider company they would only be able to assist me the next day to do the assessment and report back to the insurer. Am I in the wrong for not having to accept this, given the fact that I have been sitting for 3 days without the use of our appliance and not receiving the service that we are paying for? The client in my opinion in this case should not bear the brunt for the a) shortage of service providers due to the closure of some companies over December month, b) the reliability of their vehicles or infrastructure, and c) having to religiously pay a monthly premium to be insured only to have to be sent from pillar to post with no assistance forthcoming anytime soon. I will be canceling my membership and seeking out a competitor who delivers on it's mandate. A 1-star rating is still too much for this service.
