mis-information around insurance requirement

I have been a client of Integrisure since 2011 and recently moved house. I mailed them to inform them about the change of address and my insurance got re-evaluated. I was informed by Luanne Kruger that a special excess and conditions would be added I needed to implement more security controls and was stated that it could be EITHER Burglar Bars, Security Gates OR an alarm. I promptly installed an alarm system and then got a call from integrisure (Donavan) to inform me that the information that was provided to me was incorrect as the Alarm is not still sufficient as it has to be linked to an armed response unit. If this information was given to me upfront I would have planned accordingly as clearly the other controls such as the burglar bard, security gates etc would not be sufficient as well.<br> <br> I understand why this is needed but I just spend quite a bit of money on an alarm (which they said would be sufficient) and would have made other plans if they gave me the correct information upfront.
