Poor Quality Products

Good Day

I bought this unit (Voyager MII) 3-4 months ago at Builders Warehouse in Somerset West.

The unit is working fine,but now the bump strip is broken already,as it kept on bumping against the stairs in the pool. I thought that's what its suppose to do? But why does it break so soon? As a result the kreepy is not working optimally and my pool water quality is deteriorating.

How can this break so soon already? What am I suppose to do now? I've just spent money buying a new unit, and I see on the box there is a 3 year warranty.
