Integra Motor group - BEWARE POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS
I sincerely hope and pray that people thinking of dealing with Integra Motor Group will go onlt Hello Peter first and review their service. I am going to try and keep my horror story short.
I always wanted to own a Peugeot RCZ, and did ALOT of research before buying this car. Integra had the exact model I was looking for. I drove from Cape Town to Johannesburg to complete the transaction. 2 days of absolute hell ensued, ending up with me firstly sitting on their Centurion Branch floor crying my eyes out from frustration because of all the lies I was told. Then, I also had to wait until 21h00 on the 2nd night for the mechanics to "fix" the car so I would be safe for my trip back to Cape Town.
A week after I returned to Cape Town, I took the car to a tyre fitment centre, as I wanted them to check the wheel alignment, brakes, shocks etc... only to find that 3 of the rims were "buckled"... cost - R2000 (now I knew why they were so awesome in "giving me 4 brand new tyres" as part of the deal.
I then decided to take the car to Peugeot for a full service, just to ease my mind. R6000 for the service was expected, but I had to pay another R5,000 for diagnostics to be done, as they found some issues with the car.
Then, 6 months after I bought the car, it completely stopped driving, with all the warning lights coming on... quote to repair - R58,000.... and the car was involved in a crash prior to me buying it, even though the car went through Dekra and Integra's 120 point checklists. I now walk to work...
I am a 49 year old male, I have owned 12 cars, and this was my 1st time dealing with a 2nd hand car dealership, the worst mistake I ever made. My dream car turned our to be my worst nightmare.
Please - save yourself alot of lies and tears, do not deal with these people, what they are doing should be ********
1 We jointly agreed during the purchase that 2 tyres needs to be replaced. Due to the miscommunication between us and you on delivery date and time ,we compensated by buying 4 new tyres.During fitment there was no problems with the mags
2 We contacted Peugeot Tygervalley .There technician who worked on the car confirmed the following
a) When you brought the car in for the 80 000km service(Kilos on delivery 62000km) .He specifically told you you cars timing is out you have to replace the timing belt as soon as possible.
b) They contacted you twice afterwords to bring the car in for the timing and cambelt replacement.Which you did not do
3 The damage according to Peugeot is due to the timing and cambelt not being replaced by yourself.
4 You agreed that integra is not liable for the damages suffered
DESPITE THE ABOVE WE OFFERED THE FOLLOWING
A To assist with cutting the costs on the repairs by helping with cheaper spares and quotes
B Sourcing a dealer in the Cape to assist to repair the car more cost effectively

1. As I explained, at the time of arriving in Cape Town, I took the car for inspection, and the fitment centre told me 3 x mags were in need of repair, which I paid R1800 for. I did not contact Integra, purely based on my experience with them a week prior, and expected that they would say I damaged the rims, to which I said I am more than willing to do a polygraph test to prove that I did not cause the damage. If Alan Kopping is still working at Integra, maybe ask him whether the whole tyre scenario was due to communication between him and I to sweeten the deal? If so, I am once again more than willing to do a polygraph. Also, I was told that the car had 1 previous owner, who is trading the car as his wife was having a baby. When I got the service book, and other documentation in the car, it was evident that the car had 4 / 5 different owners, and the last owner was a female... Also, the car was signed off as not having been in accidents, which is odd, as the car's paintwork on the boot is fading - according to a panel beater, the car was in fact involved in an accident, also, when the car was advertised, it had a full service history, when I went through the service book in February, I realized that the car was not serviced it it's regular intervals (as the bookm will prove - sorry Vernon, I did not mention this on Friday when you called me.
2. a) correct, but only after I took the car back after paying R5,500 for the service, and then a week later, another R5,500 for diagnostics. The outcome was that the timing chain and the fuel pump had to be replaced at a cost of R18,000. At the time I informed Peugeot that I do not have the money for the repairs, and they told me that I can drive the car, but once I feel a loss of power, or a warning sign appears on the dash, that I must stop driving immediately, which I did.
b) Absolute nonsense. Why would they call me (phone records will be great) if they knew I did not have the money at the time, and knowing that I had to first pay a 50% deposit?
3. Cambelt? This was not mentioned to me in February... Also, Peugeot told Vernon that I drove 14000 km in 2 months, I serviced the car on 79,000 in February 2019, and the car stopped driving on 81,068, actually 2000 km, 2 months later
4. Of course I cannot hold Integra liable for selling me a car full of problems. As I said to Vernon telephonically, after what I had to endure for 2 days when buying the vehicle - which Vernon is fully aware of; would he then go back to the exact same people, as the same issue with the rims would have played out with regards to the motor. I drove the car for 7 months, so everything would have been my fault. Odd though that I buy a car from them, and then 6 months later sit with a repair bill of R57,000 after already spending R13,000 in the first few months from purchasing the car... I did not go onto HP to hold Integra liable, I did to inform others to be careful.
Then in conclusion:
a. I'll wait and see, I have always preferred using the actual dealers, but due to my financial situation, I suppose I have no option but to look for alternatives, as I cannot WALK to work every day (12 km), especially considering that I pay more than R6,000 a months on instalments and Insurance
b. Will see what transpires by the end of this week. And I will repeat myself, I did not come to HP expecting to hold Integra liable for any repairs, purely to vent my frustration. This was an offer Vernon made. Just sad that I "own" my dream car, I just cannot drive it.... , and now it's winter in Cap Town. I cannot afford to save to repair the car, and use Uber - that's an additional R2700 a month, so basically I am stuffed. Not a nice place to be. Vernon is an awesome person, I don't hold him responsible at all. Just a pity about some of his staff...
