Terrible service, ********** registration and small claims court
I enrolled into Intec College to do the following courses: 1. National Senior Certificate Grade 12 - 2 Subjects without CASS (Student number: ********** 3286) 2. National Senior Certificate Grade 12 - 1 Subject with Cass (Student number: ********** 3293)
I registered with a student consultant named Derek Pienaar and finished the registration process on the 15th of February 2018. I was later enrolled into the above courses on the 20th of February 2018. Upon registration with Derek Pienaar, I specifically informed him that I graduated with an IEB matric in 2016 and asked the possibilities of writing the NSC examination with IEB CASS marks, to which I was informed by him that it was possible, hence I registered with Intec College. However, when I went to the Department of Education in Durban, KZN, on the 2nd of February 2018 to register to write the end of year NSC examinations, I was 1) informed that I could not use my IEB CASS marks to write the end of year NSC examinations and 2) that I could not register to write the NSC examination without an examination center or a high school.
This information from the DOE contradicted what Derek Pienaar informed with regards to my IEB CASS marks as well as Intec College's directions as to how I should register with the nearest district office to write the end of year NSC examinations. I called multiple personals from Intec College multiple times but did not receive any useful information as no one, including Derek Pienaar, could help me.
On the 9th of February 2018, I called Candice from Intec College on the number ********** and then was referred to Michelle who apparently dealt with the administration process. She informed me that I could write the NSC examinations but it was my responsibility to get my CASS marks from IEB and forward it to the department of education in order to write the end of year NSC examinations. Candice was extremely rude and unhelpful.
I was well aware of my responsibility to register with the DOE to write the end of year NSC exanimations, however, Derek Pienaar never informed me of this complicated process mentioned above and nor was it ever written and signed on paper. I was never told this information and I have email and telephonic evidence of this information never being addressed to me by Derek during the registration process. If I had known this before, I would have never registered with Intec College. Also, the fact that I was only told this after registering is preposterous. Thus, this is **********, dishonest and inaccurate information, which I have evidence of, being transferred to me by Intec College and Derek Pienaar.
Due to inaccurate the nature of the registration process that affected my decision to deregister from the above courses, which was beyond my control, l requested my full R6 680 refund, otherwise I threatened to take this issue to the small claims court. I am requested for a full refund because the deregistration is due to an administrational error hence not in any way my responsibility. I requested this on the 12th of February 2018.
I have yet to receive a response from them and is worried by the reviews written about them here. I am utterly disappointed and shocked that this company is still able to run for it's disastrously terrible service.
