Intec College disgraceful attitude to it's students

This is a letter I sent to the COO of Intec , but to date had no response.

Dear Sir/Madam

I herewith wish to lodge a dispute/complaint regarding the unprofessional treatment that I have been receiving from your institution, from both staff and management for the past 2 years.

I enrolled my son with Intec in 2018. When i enquired which was the most suitable Electrical Engineering course to start with, bearing in mind his circumstances, i was told by a lady named L... that they offered an intro to Electrical Engineering which was an in house course, not accredited, but a necessity to carry on to the Diploma course. I told her all course material had to be hard copies and no exams. She assured me there were no exams as the course wasn't accredited, and that she would send a memory stick with the course content for me to print and take to him.

All of this did did occur. He completed all the assignments in 2 batches, which i sent via courier to you. in Cape Town.

A year later i enquired as to why all the results were still not available.

I spoke to several consultants where each one of them were all going to escalate, cause they couldn't find the results on the system. Obviously never heard back from anyone of them.

After numerous, emails and phone calls with no resolution, my husband and I decided to fly to Cape Town in November 2020 in an attempt to get some answers. We came to your offices at Canal Walk and demanded to see a manager. After a lengthy wait we saw D.......who couldn't help us. He then went and called on a manager. He also looked on the system and his answer was shocking.

He said the Maths assignments had been allocated to assessors, but had not been marked as yet, because they haven't had any maths assessors for 2 years. However, he couldn't tell me why the business communication hadn't been marked.

However, what was even more shocking was the fact that he said my son hadn't written any exams.

Firstly, we were never informed about any exams, bearing in mind that i asked for a course where no exams were needed, and the fact that Intec was informed at the start of my sons circumstances.

If like this manager says he needed to write exams, why then was i not notified or arrangements made for him to write exams.

This situation has been extremely frustrating and very debilitating for my son, as he has been unable to progress to the next phase of his studies. This has set him back by 2 years and a 3rd if this is not corrected promptly.

The msnagers ast email indicated that he had spoken to the head of Intec, and that they would arrange for my son to write exams. I rep**** that he should do that.

He incidentally went on leave and didn't bother to do anything.

Since my son was an assessor last year, he was offered to do the engineering diploma free of charge.

This is now no longer possible as he needed this certificate by 12th Jan to gain access to this institution.

Every possible thing I've tried has been unsuccessful, except when I paid your fees in full, that was highly successful.

This situation needs to be corrected immediately, so that a third year isn't wasted, and he can still gain access to study this year.
