Billing error

Hi. About 5 or 6 years ago I signed up for a journalism course. I PAID the fee (in the region of R1 200 +) and received a 'text book / manual', a dictionary and some stationary. <br> That was that, I never sent Intec any work to evaluate or mark, neither did I write any tests or exams. I paid the fee, received some books and stationary, and that was the end of it. I also never heard from Intec again.<br> Then a few weeks ago I received phone calls from a debt collector, first claiming that I owe Intec R3 500 + before later telling me I owe Intec R7 000+. It appears that I have also been blacklisted.<br> The debt collector was unable to tell me WHY AND FOR WHAT I allegedly owe Intec money. No details, just 'pay the money'.<br> An e-mail to your accounts department also didn't bear any fruit, as I was told to contact the debt collector.<br> I need some answers, please. Why, 5 or 6 years after the fact, do I suddenly owe Intec R7000 +? And isn't it ******* to blacklist someone without at least giving notice of what's going on? Why, in the last 5 or 6 years, was I not contacted so we could sort out this obviously erroneous account and error on your system? This is unacceptable.<br>
