Warranty transfer - ******** penalty deductions +-R4700 - MPP410286

I wish to transfer my extended warranty from 1 vehicle which has been written off to another vehicle which is the exact same model as the previous 1 under warranty (2012 alfa romeo 159). this vehicle has atleast 14000kms less on the odometer and is in alot better shape as the other 1 under warranty but insureafrica refuses to transfer warranty stating that it does not fall within their terms and conditions. After communicating with a customer representative at insureafrica (Phindile Dlamini) I was advised that it was done before but now she emails me stating it cannot be done. If that is not bad enough, she has advised me via email that I will only be refunded R5018.00 out of the +-R9700 paid to them just 4 months ago! the car was written off on september 16th. this company is robbing me off an extra +-R3400 for just 3 months warranty which works out to just about R1300 saying they have to remove their commission. I just want the company to transfer the warranty onto the new vehicle which as explained is in alot better shape (exact same model) than the 1 that was under the warranty. Why should I be penalised if the company refuses to transfer the warranty? This is ****************!!!

Hi Why is the outcome of my query not being posted on this website? There isnt a reason why you should not transfer my warranty if it has been done for other clients (if the vehicle is the same model - as advised by Phindile). Furthermore, I have not requested a cancellation of this policy MPP410286 but im being penalised over R3400.00 because insureafrica is cancelling it? I need to pay your commission to your staff because you are cancelling my policy. Is that ethicle?

It's been over 24 hours and no one from your complaints department has contacted me as advised by yourself. I forgot to mention that it has already taken insureafrica 2 weeks to advise me that the warranty transfer cannot be done. How much longer are you going to take to resolve a simple query? I would also like to mention that I have'nt made a single claim on my policy so insureafrica has not lost a single cent from this policy. That point further highlights that there is no reason why your company should cancel my policy. I am giving insureafrica until this Monday, 20th November 2017 to resolve this query thereafter I am going to approach the Motor Industry Ombudsman.

Good day Mr Dawood,

Our sincere apologies for the delay in responding to you.

In response to your comments above:-

The warranty belongs to the vehicle. Therefore if the vehicle is sold , the warranty is cancelled & refunded unless, the owner (in this case , you) selects to transfer the warranty to the new owner. You cannot , in any instance, transfer a warranty to another vehicle. This is industry standard.

Should the vehicle be written off, again, in this instance, the warranty is cancelled and refunded.

Resolution:-

As per our Legal department and Customer Care department, this matter is now resolved.

Thank you kindly,

InsureAfrica
