And so The Great ICB Flunks!!!!

The experience has been absolutely horrible - an absolute nightmare to say the least for a service which I paid for without any complaints.

I have been waiting for my Fasset Qualification Certificate since June 2017. Yes I do understand that the Fasset Certificates take a bit of a while and I was notified of this. Apparently they take between 3-6 months. So after three months I started doing follow ups with the ICB and their consultants advised that the certificate is not available.

At the end of January 2018 I spoke to one of their consultants again and she said that they have received some Fasset Certificates and she thinks that mine may be there. So instead of actually checking to make sure that the certificate is there as I am asking when will i get it she simply settles on an assumption for an answer. Fair enough I gave the ICB the benefit of the doubt as they rely on a third party for the certificate.

Meanwhile little did I know that the certificate in question had already been dispatched from Cape Town to Johannesburg on the 20th of December already. Which means that the consultant that I spoke to in late January did not even bother to check for this certificate she simply chose to give me a bogus response. Then I decided to follow up at the end of March and luckily this time I found a decent consultant who was able to provide me with an accurate response and advised of the Tracking number and told me that the Certificate had already been dispatched in December 2017.

Usually when the ICB sends items via registered mail they will sms and email you the Tracking number. I never received an sms or an email this time around. And yes the Post Office is supposed to deliver a slip but I never got this slip and I am not the Post Office's student. I am the ICB's student and I am paying them dearly to make sure that my Educational needs are taken care of.

Anyway I call the Post Office and they advise that the parcel sat for a month with them and then they returned it through to the ICB at the end of February 2018. I call the ICB and guess what they tell me. They tell me that they do not have the parcel with them it is still at the Post Office.

I call the Cape Town Post Office and they tell me that the ICB has already picked it up - A lady by the name of Mrs Kombo has already picked it up. I call Mrs Kombo and yes I do admit that I was in a bit of a temper and instead of assisting me she still wants to argue with me and try to send me from pillar to post.

I will not be sent from pillar to post for a service that I have paid for - I simply refuse it as her colleagues have already done a good enough job already with making a fool out of me. So I dropped the call on her as I was in no mood to put up with a person who wants to argue with me instead of assist me.

So as we speak I am still without a certificate and I am waiting for the ICB to find this document. Really I would understand if it was a free service then I would not expect much from them. I mean do they not keep track of their parcels or do they simply hide work that they are supposed to do under their tables? Anyway all I can say is that if you can use a different institution do so as the ICB is guaranteed to give you migraines and you will pay dearly for them to provide you with those migraines!
