RE: COMPLAINT REGNEGLIGENCE AND INCOMPETENCE - DECEASED ESTATE OF S.N. NTLABATI
To Whom It May Concern
I am writing to express my absolute disgust and disappointment with the appalling level of service—or rather, the complete LACK of service—I have received from ABSA's Deceased Estates Department.
Let me be crystal clear about the timeline of this incompetence:
• 4 February 2026: I submitted my initial request via email with all required documentation attached • 5 February 2026: I received an email demanding attachments that I had ALREADY provided in my original email • 5 February 2026: Despite the absurdity of this request, I comp**** IMMEDIATELY to avoid further delays • 10 February 2026: After receiving NO response or progress from your department, I sent a completely new batch of emails with all documents AGAIN • 10 February 2026 to present: ABSOLUTE SILENCE. Not even the courtesy of an acknowledgment of receipt • Since then: NOTHING. No response. No acknowledgment. No basic human decency.
To make matters worse, when I contacted your customer care department, I was promised—PROMISED—that I would be contacted within three working days. That was a blatant lie. It has now been well over three working days, and I have heard nothing.
I have made numerous attempts to reach Roselin Cindi, Administration Clerk, only to be told repeatedly that she is "on lunch." Every single time. Do I need to remind you that lunch breaks are not eight hours long? I am told that my message will be conveyed, but clearly, these messages are either not being delivered or Ms. Cindi is deliberately ignoring my attempts to get assistance.
The fact that I have sent TWO complete sets of documentation—on 4-5 February AND again on 10 February—and have not received even a single acknowledgment is absolutely disgraceful. This is not a case of missing documents. This is not a case of incomplete information. This is pure, inexcusable negligence and incompetence.
This is absolutely unacceptable. I am dealing with my late mother's estate, and your department's negligence and incompetence are causing me unnecessary distress during an already difficult time. The fact that no one in your department can be bothered to respond to emails, return calls, or provide even the most basic level of customer service is a shameful reflection of ABSA as an organization.
Is this how ABSA treats grieving family members? Is this the standard of professionalism I should expect from a major financial institution? Because right now, it appears that ABSA has zero regard for its customers and even less concern for accountability.
I demand an immediate response to my original request. I demand an explanation for this disgraceful delay. And I demand confirmation that my request is being processed.
If I do not receive a substantive response within 48 hours, I will be escalating this matter to ABSA's senior management, lodging a formal complaint with the Ombudsman for Banking Services, and exposing this incompetence on every public platform available to me.
This is my final courtesy communication.
