Poor service and zero sense of urgency

If I could give zero I would I am beyond frustrated and deeply disappointed with the handling of my late mother’s life claim.

We submitted this claim in November 2025. It is now almost March 2026, and there has still been no meaningful progress or finalisation.

The appointed claims assessor from agility advised that my mother’s medical records were requested from the hospital in January 2026 and that the PAIA process allows up to 30 working days. That period has now lapsed, yet we are still being told that the records are outstanding and that the claim cannot be finalised.

This prolonged delay is completely unacceptable.

My sisters and I are trying to process the devastating loss of our mother, yet we are being forced to chase updates and live in constant uncer*****y because of administrative inefficiencies. The emotional toll this has taken on us is immense.

We have been patient. We have cooperated fully. We have provided all required documentation. We have followed up repeatedly. Still, there is no resolution, no urgency, and no accountability.

It is outrageous that grieving family members are left in limbo for months beyond submission, with no clear explanation, no escalation, and no firm commitment to finalisation. We should not have to fight for progress on a claim during one of the most painful periods of our lives.

Absa needs to urgently intervene, take responsibility for this delay, and provide a clear timeline for finalisation.

This level of service is unacceptable and deeply distressing. We demand immediate action.

I am writing to express my growing concern and disappointment regarding the lack of consistent feedback and communication on my queries.
I have found that I need to repeatedly follow up in order to receive any update. In many instances, I do not receive a response at all unless I send multiple emails. When I do receive a reply, I am often asked to allow a few more days for feedback, however, no further communication follows thereafter.

I fully understand that workloads can be demanding and that there are multiple priorities to manage. However, clear and reliable communication is essential, especially when commitments are made to provide updates within a certain timeframe. When those expectations are not met, it becomes both frustrating and difficult to plan accordingly

I would appreciate it if going forward, communication can be more consistent and that any timelines provided are adhered to or proactively updated should circumstances change.

I would appreciate feedback as promised
