Exceptional Service : Tsholofelo(ABSA Life)

I contacted ABSA (07 May 2026) yesterday to enquire about a policy my late partner had with the bank. Unfortunately, I received conflicting information from about three different consultants who did not seem to fully understand the Estate Provider Plan product. I was taken from pillar to post , one consultant advised that the policy had lapsed, while another said it had already paid out, which was not the case.

This experience highlighted how important proper product training is, because when staff are not adequately equipped with knowledge, it leaves clients feeling frustrated and emotionally drained. By the end of yesterday, I had completely given up and felt extremely disappointed.

This morning, I made another attempt to contact ABSA, and my call was answered by Tsholofelo. She was kind, compassionate, patient, and highly professional. I was so overwhelmed by the previous day’s experience that I even broke down during the call, but she handled the situation with genuine empathy and understanding.

Tsholofelo took the time to carefully listen to my concerns, navigated the system confidently, demonstrated excellent product knowledge, and confirmed that the policy was indeed active ,they were simply awaiting the required documents for internal processing, which confirms the e-mail that I received from ABSA previously, that they will re-open the file once the documents becomes available. She clearly guided me through the process and restored my confidence.

She provided an exceptional client experience that I will never forget. ABSA truly has an asset in Tsholofelo, and the bank would benefit greatly from having more consultants like her.
