Absa Failed Funeral Plan - Declining to pay out

Absa's slogan is "Your Story Matters", but to Absa OUR story clearly does NOT matter.

My mother passed away at the age of 85 on 22 December 2025, and as a family mourning the loss a beloved we came face to face with the reality that they won't pay out her funeral plan. A funeral plan which she has paid diligently for 23 years, paying every month since 2002, for a mere amount of R10 000. Why do they not pay? They failed to assist an elderly client to ensure that she has a beneficiary, and regardless of having only one living relative and numerous letters of communication from lawyers, they refuse to pay out.

The ONLY story that matters to Absa is their OWN.
