Instagram shows no interest in helping those who have been hacked

All I can say is that instagram is the worst in terms of caring or assisting their users when they get hacked . On Wednesday night around 10pm a classmate of mine sent me a message on instagram asking to vote for him as he had entered a tv show using a link that he sent me via instagram . I went through with the link , I entered my logging in details as it required me to do so and It didn’t end up working . I then proceeded to ask him if there isn’t an alternative way for me to vote for me but he didn’t respond . At 7 am I woke up checked my phone and i got a notification that at 4am my account was logged in Johannesburg & Gonubie South Africa bare in mind that I live in Cape Town South Africa. I then received an email that my account username has been changed. I tried logging in and try to changed my passwords but I didn’t have any luck . I used my username, email as well as my cellphone number but it says that “Device not recognized” , it seems as though the hacker changed all my account details . I sent my classmate a text on WhatsApp asking if he personally sent me a text he said no he’s account had been hacked as well . I then proceeded to email Instagram in response to these emails that they sent to update me regarding every detail that these hackers have changed . Today I wanted to create a new account because I have accepted that I’ve lost my account. I can’t even create a new account because it says that “my mobile number and email is associated with an existing account “ bare in mind that they sent an email this morning saying that it was changed and previously when I tried to login it said that my details were unrecognised. I really need assistance in recovering this account because instagram has shown no interest in helping all they do is send you to their “help center” with a bunch of instructions that doesn’t even help no matter how much you follow instructions . I even wrote in the email that i can prove my identification to show that it’s really my account.
