This is not good salesmanship, it is ********* and unapologetically insulting.

I recently put my car on the market through wheely and accepted a bid of R153000 from inspect a car Gezina, this was also my first time selling a car. Naturally, I wanted to get the best value for my vehicle which I know and believe was in excellent condition (I was the first owner and the only driver), however my experience with inspect a car Gezina was terribly dissapponting and more importantly, traumatising. As a single female, with little knowledge about cars, I trusted that the transaction was about 80% complete once I received the bid based on the honest description of my car. When I arrived, I was assisted by two gentleman (Jean and Moe) who insisted that there were many faults with the body of my vehicle and that they would not take my car at the value bid. They did not even test drive the car or inspect the interior, infact Moe said that if he were to do that, the new offer of R139000 would drop significantly. At this point I became stressed and uncomfortable, Jean commented on the evident stress I was experiencing by saying "you're stressed now, I can see it" at this point Moe added that because I am a Muslim he is doing me a favour by taking my car and that he wouldn't even make this kind of an offer to a "black" person because of the "condition" of my car. These guys made me feel really uncomfortable and despondent, I felt pressured into making a decision due to the intimidating manner in which these men assisted me with. As a result of the overwhelming emotional state I was experiencing, I accepted the offer of R139000. I advised them that I didn't have the spare key with me but that I could get it to them within 2 days. We agreed that an amount of R2000 would be deducted from the offer and settled upon receipt of the spare key. When the paperwork was being drawn up, Jean instructed the lady to deduct R5000, after arguing for about a minute he advised her to deduct R3000. At this point I was just pale and uncomfortable, I wanted to stop the deal and take my car and leave but could not think straight given my emotional frame of mind. Once the transaction was concluded, I waited for the shuttle to take me back to Johannesburg as agreed with Taahir Dawson on Friday 26 July, however this was not the case, the driver was instructed to drop me off at the Gautrain station in Pretoria, when we got into the car the driver advised that he would be dropping me off at Bosman station (I'm sorry but I did not feel safe firstly because I don't know the area, I'm a female and I had a laptop bag with me) when I asked to be taken to the Centurion station, the driver insisted I call Moe to ask for permission, I didn't have his cellphone number and therefore contacted Taahir again, he was rude and said that the driver should drop me off at Bosman or Hatfield. I explained that I am not fami**** with the areas and feel unsafe and would therefore prefer the centurion station, he reluctantly agreed. On Tuesday evening, their website was updated with a picture of my car with a price tag of R179 900 and a description of “excellent condition, this is a bargain, hurry for this beauty”. This confirms my the dishonesty these people operate with. My details were also given to a client who contacted me on Wednesday 31 July to verify whether my car had any mechanical issues or been involved in any accidents because the price seemed “too good to be true” – I believe that it is ********* practice for my details to have been shared with a client WITHOUT my consent. I contacted Moe today – Friday 2nd August 2019 at 11.45am to request a copy of the Bank settlement letter and was told that it will be e-mailed to me shortly, I have still not received a copy of the settlement. All in all, this was a terrible experience. I realise that I am one person, I don't have the influence to shut this dealership down or perhaps even launch an investigation into how many other clients have had the same experience, therefore I would like to caution single females to be alert and aware when doing business with this dealership. If you can, go with someone who knows about cars and it's value so that you are not duped like I was. So that you are not taken advantage of or made to believe that your car is worth nothing. I want to appeal to wheely to reconsider your client value proposition for customers like me who don't know much about cars and who don't have friends or relatives that are available to accompany them to the dealership. There should be an added benefit option to have a representative accompany your customer to the dealer because it is just unfortunate that there are dishonest and ****** people out there who will do and say anything to make quick and easy money.
