Overpriced Faulty SLK55
I bought a 2006 Mercedes SLK55 with 43000km for amount of R300000 from Inspectacar Gezina on 22 May 2020. The book value of the car was R190000 but I was told that there is no discount due to the condition of the car. Mohammed told me that the car had a 101 point inspection done and was perfect. I am in East London and had the car couriered to me. Before I purchased the car Mohammed assured me that I am buying a car from a reputable dealer that is part of a franchise and that There is a 6 months warranty on the vehicle according to Regulations. He so assured me that I can go to any dealership that is registered to do any repairs if needed when the car arrives. The car arrived and it was not as perfect as what he told me it was. There where a few scratches and small dents which I had repaired. The power steering pump was wining and the hand brake would not hold the vehicle. I took it in to a workshop who confirmed that the power steering pump was making an noise and that the hand brake and brakes where defective. The one key did not work after confirming with Mohammed that there where spare keys. The workshop quoted and Mohammed assured me that everything was going to be sorted out. Their service manager Juan contacted me and assured me everything will be sorted. That was the last... I contacted them on several occasions with absolutely no luck. After placing a post on Facebook Juan contacted me telling me he doesn't know anything about this vehicle. After aong struggle I got hold of the dealer principles cell number ad messaged him
He was very apologetic and said that everything will be sorted. Juan contacted me again and told me that we need to get this sorted... Meaning them. Mohammed sent me the enatis for the car after almost 10 weeks. No it is silent again. No answers. Just a message from Juan occasionally saying he will call me now.
I am sitting with a car that was never roadworthied and that I can't get through roadworthy due to the faults.
Please never ever buy a vehicle from these people.
