Appalling Service From InspectaCar PMB
It all started when I purchased an Audi A3 from the Aksons Inspectacar in PMB. What should've been a smooth purchase started off very shady when the salesman told me the bank required a deposit of R4000 deposit which I did not have and ended up paying R2000 and nowhere on the paperwork did it say the bank required it when I asked him about it he told me it was the spotter's fee but I must not tell the spotter, which did not make sense to me but fast forward I get the car. Eleven days later, the car gives me a low lubricant warning light which takes me by surprise because apparently the oil service was done prior to me taking ownership of the car meaning either the service wasnr done or something is wrong with the engine. I add a litre of the recommended fully synthetic oil and sure enough after 100 or so km the dipstick was bone dry. I take the car to my local Audi dealer to have it diagnosed but the day before I took the car ro the dealer a series of warning lights starr going on. The lights were, in order... ABS failure, ASC failure, power steering failure, Auto Stop/Start failure, auto hill hold assist failure and headlight distance module failure. I take the car to Audi the very next day bear in mind I had to travel from Mthatha to my local Audi which is Audi Centre Margate because I'm from Port Shepstone. I take the car to Audi and I have the diagnostics test done and they pick up a faulty front right wheel speed sensor which was suspected to be causing the warning lights. The lights weren't just lights either cause they did affect the characteristics of the car from a very stiff steering wheel to shaky braking and car not holding on the hill etc. With regards to the oil consumption the dealer starts the test which consisted of draining all the oil, then filling it up then I had to drive 1000kms or until the warning light comes on then bring the car back so they can check if consumption is in or out of spec. I drove 550km before the warning light came on and it was determined that the consumption was out of spec. All of these tests and transporting the car back and forth were for my expense. I contact the dealer and email the documents then they tell me to take the car and get it tested at Audi PMB for what reason I dont know but I get my dad to take it since I had to go back to work in the Eastern Cape. At this point the car had been at a dealer for almost a month. After just 10 days I go to Audi PMB to fetch the car and deliver it to the dealer because they had no interest in helping me bear in mind the car was 2 months old and a month of that was spent at a dealer. When I went to them they told me they would not repair the car instead because I took the extended warranty the manager **** and said they loaded the warranty for me in case something like this happened but in actual fact they loaded it for commission and to shift responsibility to Motorite when I do figure out the car is consuming oil excessively. Moving on, Audi Centre Margate reaches out to Motorite and the car sits another 2 weeks there while I wait for Motorite to approve or decline the repair. To my luck they approve the engine repair which was about R45 000 but not the speed sensor. I call Aksons and after saying they will call me back on 3 separate occasions I call them and they tell me the boss said they wont be fixing the speed sensor. Now my only hope would be to get in contact with the ombudsmen. Until now my car has not yet been repaired but at least the parts have been ordered and should be ready latest next Friday (engine repair). My 2c would be, be very weary when dealing with Aksons PMB - The home of pre-loved cars.
