Non process of claim due to missing service book

My vehicle, land rover freelander 2, has been giving trouble with the automatic gearbox.
I took the vehicle to 2 dealers for diagnostics or repair. The vehicle was eventually sent to mayfair gearboxes who performed diagnostics and concluded that gearbox needs to be replaced.
they then contacted the innovation group as my extended warranty for the vehicle was purchased from them with the aquisition of the vehicle. They requested the service book for history. This book was always in my vehicle. Unfortunately, this same book was not found in the vehicle by mayfair gearboxes. The last time vehicle was serviced was with its purchase. I have been in contact with land rover to ensure that my service record is up to date. They have informed me that the next service is due at 144000km. The vehicle is currently at 138615 km which is well within the service interval.
The innovation group says that according to them its not been kept up to date and because they cover warranties for land rover, they are in the right. thus they refuse to honour the warranty and have said that i should cancel the policy
