INNOVATION GROUP EXTENDED WARRANY
Hello Peter,
The only reason I gave a star, is because I have to, to be able to enter this review. For the record I give no stars.
I would like to warn my fellow off-roaders about Innovation's Extended Warranty. I have been a 4x4 enthusiast for over 20 years and during this time I have been threw the Namaib desert on more than one occasion, and everytime in a Range Rover Sport, so my obvious choice was once again to buy a Range Rover Sport., this time though I opted for the 2014 5.0l SC, which I purchased as a 4x4 ing vehicle and have had over 45000km of satisfaction and incredible fun since. Upon purchasing the car with 95000km I bought an Innovation 2 year extended warranty from a local dealer in Kimberley and repeatedly asked him whether it would cover my vehicle for offroading....he contacted the local Innovation representitive and ensured me that I would be covered.
A few months later I registered a claim for a leaking front shock and was initially denied a claim, because of the fact that I was apparently abusing the vehicle.....this was based on a video that was posted of the vehicle going up a sand dune. They eventually, after me begging and pleading and pointing out that there was nothing stated in the policy about not be permitted to 4x4, paid for a shock.
Earlier this year, before the Covid 19 Lockdown, I went on a 4x4 sand dune day-trip 240km west of Kimberley, but unfortunately as I attempted to hit the first dune, my water pump's shaft seal blew and I had my car towed back to my Hometown, Kimberley. Finally with the lock down restrictions being eased, I logged a claim with Innovation for the Water Pump as well as inner CV joints which were also deemed faulty by my mechanic.
The dealer contacted me and informed me that my policy had been cancelled due to abuse and modifications. The abuse being the same video as in the past and the modifications being an after market exhaust system that I installed after a stone damaged my previous one. They have since informed me that they will not pay the claim and they are cancelling the policy. All that I would like is for you to warn other 4x4 enthusiasts about this company, seeing that most 4x4 vehicles have after market parts like exhausts, suspension etc. and unbeknownst to them they will not be covered should they have a claim. Thank you for your time.
