I would never recommend Innovation Group to anyone

I would never recommend The Innovation Group to anyone.

After requesting that they recommend a mechanic—because I had insurance with them—I chose a workshop from their own approved list, Sanken Engineering. I took my car in for what was supposed to be a simple oil filter issue. The mechanic failed to fix the problem, and when I contacted Innovation Group, they simply referred me back to him instead of helping.

I ended up having to tow my car at my own cost with zero assistance from the company. When I arrived, the mechanic suddenly claimed it was “something else” and I had to pay an extra R10,000 without claiming. I collected the car, but on my way home the exact same issue happened again.

I then took my car to BMW, and they picked up the same problem immediately. It has now been three months without my car, and I have spent even more money trying to fix what should have been resolved in the beginning. Meanwhile, Graham keeps saying the matter has been “escalated,” but nothing has been done.

To make matters worse, Pro Auto Service has now confirmed that the top gasket is damaged and that the cylinder head had to be removed and refitted—damage that occurred after the work done by Sanken Engineering, the very workshop Innovation Group recommended from their own database.

Still, I have received no assistance from the company. Yet every month, they continue to debit my account without fail.

This has been terrible service and complete lack of care for the customer.

I am extremely disappointed with how Innovation handled my claim. After raising a complaint today, they rushed to reject my claim without properly investigating the facts. Their reason was that I “took the car to another dealer,” while ignoring the full story.

The problem with my vehicle was picked up before I contacted Innovation. They then advised me to take the car to their referred dealer. I did exactly that. When I collected the car, it still had the same fault. I went to another dealer only to check if it was the same issue, not to bypass them. Based on Innovation’s own advice, I returned the car to their referred dealer again — yet the problem remained unresolved.

Instead of acknowledging that their recommended dealer failed to fix the issue, they blamed me and rejected the claim. It is clear they did not look at the facts or conduct a proper assessment.

To me, it feels like Innovation is protecting certain mechanics and pushing customers to pay out of pocket while pretending to offer coverage. People need to be aware of how they operate. My experience with them has been nothing but stress, inconvenience, and financial loss.

I strongly advise others to think twice before joining Innovation. In my experience, their service feels like a ****, and they do not stand behind their policies or customers.
